Senior Battery Test Technician- Vibration and Shock Test

1. Position Overview

The Senior Vibration/Shock battery test technician 1st shift will work 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and will be responsible for setting up, programming, and performing tests including vibration, shock, module and battery pack cycling, temperature, and humidity testing.

Key Roles and Responsibilities.

  1. Vibration and Shock test experience a must
  2. Demonstrable experience in programming vibe and shock profiles, setting up tests, troubleshooting test setups, and working with minimal to no supervision.
  3. Experience setting up and operating mechanical shock towers
  4. Environmental Testing including Temperature, Humidity, Thermal Shock Testing experience is preferred.
  5. Comply with and Develop Safety procedures.
  6. Develop test procedures for performing electrical product and component evaluations.
  7. Experience with high voltage and high capacity battery systems.
  8. Test and evaluate finished products and system capabilities to assure product quality. 
  9. Experience running tests in programming environments such as LabVIEW or Python.
  10. Experience using communication tools such as CAN for test automation and data collection.
  11. Hands on experience with tools and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, and diagnostics and analysis software to perform standardized certification testing.
  12. Test circuits using diagnostic tools.

  14. Collect data and create test reports.
  15. Develop test procedures for performing electrical product and component evaluations.
  16. Test and evaluate finished products and system capabilities to assure product quality. 
  17. Prepares product test reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information.
  18. Expected to keep detailed documentation.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Associate degree or technical school diploma in electrical, electronic, computer science or mechanical technology/engineering
  2. 3+ years of experience setting up and performing mechanical and environmental tests.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Battery test experience.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  4. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and meet exacting deadlines.
  7. Able to capture data, rite test reports, and communicate any test issue.
